Fundraising

On behalf of your PTA, we would like to WELCOME our kindergarten class and returning student body and families to the 2009-2010 school year at Battlefield Park Elementary School! We are excited to continue the BPES tradition of having a very involved and supportive PTA, which will serve our students, staff, and families. In order for the PTA to enhance our students’ education, it requires funding. In the past years, we have been very fortunate to have purchased computers, books, maps, supplies, play ground equipment, to name a few, all due to the generosity of our community members and families. Your support of the PTA fundraising is critical to meet and exceed the needs and goals for our school. Our mission is to continue to build upon this solid foundation that so many volunteers and families have laid before us. Your support, past, present, and future is greatly appreciated by all!

We are about to embark on a new school year and with that we offer several opportunities for the community and families to support the goals and needs of the children of BPES. This year the PTA will sponsor Great American as the primary fall fundraiser. Monetary donations to the PTA are an option as well. The PTA has determined that a $20 donation per child would be the minimum amount needed to cover the majority of the proposed budget for 2009-2010. If you choose this fundraising option, please donate an amount that you are comfortable with. We know that this is a difficult time economically for many families and if 20.00 is too challenging as a donation per child, then any help you can afford will be welcomed and appreciated. With this option, the money goes directly to the PTA, and may create a tax advantage for the donating family.

In the next week, we will be sending home the Great American brochure and I would encourage everyone to take a look at the wonderful chocolates and items that this company has to offer. For those of you not familiar with Great American, this well-established organization has been around for at least 40 years and offers products that are first rate. We ask that you decide how you would like to support the PTA; through the monetary donation, through the fundraising brochure, or through both.

We hope that you will join the PTA, and as a member, help us to continue to offer events enjoyed by the BPES families throughout the school year, such as the Muffins for Moms, Donuts with Dad, and Family Pizza/Bingo night, to name a few.

Funds raised through the PTA help pay for new classroom supplies, support continuing programs such as the Reading Program, and bring educational and arts programs, such as Theatre IV, into the school for the students to enjoy.

There are not enough words to express how much the PTA appreciates the support of the BPES family and we look forward to another very successful year. WELCOME BACK!
