Watch D.O.G.S.

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is back at BPES. What an awesome start to this program! In three and a half months we had 79 male role models volunteer their time to spend the day working with students here at BPES. That is a ton of high-fives and fist-bumps. These gentlemen have read numerous books, played math games, tutored small groups, checked in library books, helped with art projects, helped motivate in PE, played at recess, helped out at lunch time, monitored Walk & Talk, as well as greeted in the morning and sent home with a smile our Battlefield Park students.

On behalf of the staff and students, I want thank everyone that has been a part of the program. Our calendar is open and ready for you to sign up for a day or two (or more if your schedule permits). We will have an informational meeting this fall to explain the program better.

Watch your email and your child’s backpack for more info soon. We have learned that we need to limit DOGS to one on any given day. If your schedule permits please consider joining us on one day. It will be an eye-opening and rewarding experience one for you as well as every student you come in contact with. They love and look forward to having the DOGS around the building. This program is open to any adult male role model in the life of one of our students - fathers, older brothers, uncles, grand-dads. So the next time you are at BPES check out our Watch DOGS Wall of Fame, and sign up for a day on the calendar posted on the main hallway wall. Did I mention you get a free lunch for your day of service? Wow - what a bargain!
