| Amber DePass | This is a wonderful outdoor event for the whole family. Volunteers needed to plan activities, prepare food, and staff this fun afternoon event, scheduled for Mid-Spring. Many volunteers are needed to help run the events and cheer the kids on. A meeting of all interested parents will be held at the end of September to start planning the activities. |

The BPES Family gets together for an evening of fun, with the evening's theme to be determined. Volunteers are needed to help with setup and cleanup and to provide refreshments for the evening. This event will take place in October. |

We start off the year with a big effort by all raising money to fund our many PTA projects. The board agreed to sell the Great American products for the Fall Fundraiser. The fall fundraiser will begin the 2nd week in October. |

Our Legislation & Bylaws Committee members follow and study various legislation at the local, state, and national level that affect our children and schools. The information they gather is shared with parents and community members throughout the year. This committee distributes copies of the bylaws to all board members and other PTA members upon request. |

This is an in-school program to encourage reading. Volunteers are needed to organize a theme, tally progress of students, and plan recognition of student achievement. Some jobs could be easily done at home as well as from school. This program is scheduled for a month beginning in early spring |

National PTA program involving student competition in Art, Music, Photography, and Literature. The committee needs to publicize the competition to BPES students, find judges, organize and display entries and present certificates to winners. Winning entries are then sent on to state competition. Display and judging takes place in January. |

These chairs send out notices early in the year to recruit room parents. They then do a blind selection of volunteers for each class. Once the room parents are selected, they notify the teachers, directory chair, and PTA presidents. |

Volunteers are needed to decorate the showcase Bulletin Board outside the main office several times a year, usually changing with the seasons and school events. |

Annually our PTA grants scholarship money to high school seniors in Hanover County who have attended BPES. High school counselors collect applications at year-end that are evaluated by our PTA Scholarship Committee who select our recipients. |

This committee works with vendors in selecting items displaying the BPES logo. These items have ranged from fleece blankes and jackets, to t-shirts and car stickers. The items are sold to the BPES community. Organize, coordinate selection of clothing & design, publicize, collect orders, and distribution sale of items. Fill and distibute orders as they come in. |

This committee’s main goal is to encourage parents to think about child health and safety issues. We’re looking for volunteers who are interested in defining the direction of our committee who can meet either monthly or every other month to decide on the programs and communications that will be sent home. Information would be sent home through the Tuesday folders, newsletter or website. |
